Cybersecurity

What You’ll Learn

  • Recognise and respond to phishing, social engineering, and psychological manipulation tactics used in real-world attacks.
  • Understand how passwords are cracked and apply best-practice password hygiene using a professional password manager.
  • Set up and manage multi-factor authentication (MFA) across personal and professional accounts to block unauthorised access.
  • Audit your own browser and devices for security risks and apply a structured hardening checklist to eliminate vulnerabilities.
  • Configure secure DNS, HTTPS-only browsing, and safe network habits to protect yourself on public and private networks.
  • Analyse real phishing emails, identify psychological hooks, and document gateway-level defences for each attack type.
  • Produce lab reports and a personal device security report demonstrating measurable, verifiable security improvements.
  • Leave with a personal cybersecurity toolkit, password manager, MFA setup, hardened browser, and a reusable security checklist ready to use immediately.

Course Description

This fully hands-on cybersecurity workshop is built for people who want real protection, not just awareness. Delivered across four practical sessions, participants crack live password hashes, score real phishing simulations, configure TOTP-based MFA on their own accounts, audit their own browser for threats, and harden their personal devices all in class, on their own hardware.

Participants will explore how attackers think, how social engineering campaigns are constructed, why passwords fail, and where MFA can be bypassed alongside live demonstrations of each technique. The course places a strong emphasis on real implementation: every session ends with a submitted lab report and something measurably more secure on the participant’s own device.

The course concludes with a complete personal device security report in which participants document browser audit results, DNS configuration, and a 15-point hardening checklist with before-and-after evidence, leaving with a security posture they built themselves and can maintain going forward.
