Course Description

The cybersecurity course is designed to develop practical skills in identifying, mitigating, and
responding to digital threats in modern networked environments. Through this course, learners
will learn to classify and prioritise threat vectors, configure firewalls and VPNs, use encryption
techniques to secure data, and conduct scoped vulnerability assessments ethically. They will
also gain an understanding of cyber laws, data privacy, and ethical security practices, while
developing the ability to document incidents and communicate risks effectively to stakeholders.
Upon completion, participants will be able to design secure network configurations, perform
penetration testing, and apply proactive defence strategies aligned with industry standards. The
course follows a lab-first delivery approach, emphasising supervised hands-on practice
supported by interactive lectures, guided exercises, and industry-relevant projects to ensure
learners build both theoretical understanding and real-world application skills.
