On International Women’s Day, Embark College hosted ‘Coffee & Canvas’: an exuberant event to celebrate those phenomenal women in the community. It showed creative expression, connection, and empowerment from this theme- “Mighty March – Celebrating Women, Creating Change.”

It’s much more than a celebration; it’s a reminder of everything achieved and all that must be done to make gender equality happen. Embark College initiated this event to provide an environment for women to become strong leaders, inspire, and work to break barriers in every field. The event itself, Coffee & Canvas, mirrors this vision by imparting views, emotions, and desires through art while inspiring meaningful conversations over a warm cup of coffee.

The much acclaimed aspects of the event included the creative synergy, storytelling, and upliftment. Student and staff solidarity came out to enjoy the canvas painting event together. It wasn’t just creativity at play but the practice of women enabling other women. As the colors invaded the canvases, so did laughter, inspiration, and a single cause fill the room.

However, apart from the art event, the talk covered other themes such as women’s leadership and empowerment and how education can be a lever towards breaking gender barriers. Participants reflected on the role of creating opportunities for women in academia, in business, and society in general.

At the end of the day, it was pretty clear that “Coffee & Canvas” bore not just the meaning of an art day but also a celebration of the strength, resilience, and endless possibilities of achieving what a woman can. At Embark College, we commit ourselves to cultivating an environment that enables women to dream big, lead confidently, and create lasting change.
