The Better You Series’ Mental Health & Wellness Week, at EMBARK College, was marked by an upbeat event held on June 5, 2025. The session was named “Everyday Healing: Learn How to Incorporate Wellbeing into Your Daily Life,” and it took place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with Aroja Maskey, an expert Psychosocial Counselor and Mental Health Professional, speaking on the topic. The event was made special when she showed up with her friendly advice, which helped attendees learn easy ways to include well-being in their routines.
Every day, healing involves deciding on simple but meaningful activities meant to look after your mental and emotional wellbeing. She began the event by pointing out that, because the world moves so quickly today, looking after ourselves is especially important. “Having well-being is essential,” she highlighted, in a way that attracted everyone: students, faculty, and community members. Most people working hard at school or in their careers were encouraged by Elisha to focus on mental health first and foremost.
The session was carefully arranged to mix both education and practical concepts. Maskey suggested that small actions, repeated every day, can greatly improve your general health. She proposed beginning every day by doing some breathing exercises or listing three things you are grateful for, which can set the mood for the day. People attending found these concepts helpful because they can be used in everyday living.

During the session, much time was spent on learning stress management methods. Maskey offered ways to bring mindfulness into everyday life, for example, by taking short breaks or checking how every part of your body feels. She urged people to develop important relationships that offer peace, security, and support. Someone wanted to know how they could care for themselves even when everything gets busy. Suggesting that people slowly integrate mindfulness into their normal routine, like having a coffee break, made her advice easy to follow.
Self-compassion is an important aspect in healing day to day, according to Maskey. She stated that easy self-kindness when challenged can help lessen criticism and strengthen our ability to withstand challenges. As an example, she had the audience reflect on something they went through recently and give themselves encouraging words. Many attendees were moved by what they saw, which made the location feel very peaceful. By being kind, she helped those involved to become nicer to themselves, just as they would be to those important in their lives.
Another point discussed was the need not to let yourself be overburdened mentally. He highlighted that refusing unnecessary responsibilities allows people to relax more, which was something everyone found interesting. She explained what she learned during counseling, giving her advice more credibility and helping people realize how her ideas apply to life.

Because of the environment at EMBARK College, the event made a stronger impression. Natural lighting made the venue look peaceful which suited the theme of healing well. Lots of students, teachers and local residents took part in the meeting and asked meaningful questions during the Q&A. Someone raised the question about assisting a friend who is stressed. When Maskey responded by recommending mindful listening and seeking help if it’s needed, it revealed her understanding of the subject and made her words caring.
As the session wrapped up, Aroja Maskey gave the audience words to uplift: “Your well-being changes each day, depending on the little things you do for yourself.” What she said made the attendees understand how vital well-being is and how they can focus on it. The EMBARK College event was a special part of Mental Health & Wellness Week and presented both helpful advice and genuine support. Those who attended had a life-altering experience that showed the importance of the “Better You Series” in sparking progress. Even as the week moves on, Aroja Maskey’s session will likely inspire the audience to practice self-healing at home.
